Gang violence leaves one dead and three wounded
In the early hours of Monday morning, not long after the completion of the Pattaya Music Festival, police and medics were called to the scene of a fatal shooting which had occurred on Sukhumvit Road just past the soon-to-be-opened by-pass road heading north to Bangkok.
At the location they found the results of the usual motorbike gang violence which erupts almost every year away from the music festival. This time the result was the shooting death of a 14-year-old Thai schoolboy, shot through the right eye. Nearby was a 15-year-old Thai male who had been shot in the leg.
By the time journalists arrived at the scene two other wounded teenagers, one aged 17, the other 15 had already been sent to hospital for treatment.
Meeting to prepare for Royal arrival
On Monday morning a meeting took place in Pattaya City Hall of senior police and law enforcement officials from all over Chonburi province to discuss planning for the upcoming arrival of the eldest daughter of the Crown Prince of Thailand to work at the Chonburi Provincial Prosecutors Office.

Sattahip police arrest four people in series of drug stings
In what proved an eventful series of undertakings early on Monday morning, undercover police in Sattahip managed to apprehend four people involved in the taking and selling of the Class 1 drug yah bah.
The sequence of events kicked off with the arrest of a 17-year-old Thai female for possession of a single yah bah tablet. She gave up the name of her supplier and police arrested him, a 25-year-old Thai male, after the teenager rang him and requested a delivery of 50 yah bah tablets. The man was also found with 8,000 baht in cash on his person.
Fire above karaoke bar
In the early hours of Sunday morning fire brigade units were called to the scene of a fire which had taken broken out above a karaoke bar in a shophouse in Naklua.
By the time firefighters arrived the blaze had taken hold of the first floor and spread to two adjoining units. Officers took more than 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The blaze soon put an end to the murdering of popular tunes by inebriated customers. Fortunately, those who were asleep in the upstairs room at the time (despite the din of the music from below), managed to escaped unharmed.
The cost of the fire is estimated at one million baht although part of this is the water damage suffered by a number of innocent karaoke machines.
