Immigration Police sent to enforce Hotel and Guest House Registration scheme for foreigners.

On Thursday we joined Police Lieutenant Colonel Panomprie, the Deputy Superintendant of Chonburi Immigration based in Jomtien as he visited a number of Hotels and Guest Houses around Pattaya to ensure they are conforming to Immigration Regulations which state that foreign patrons must complete registration forms which must be sent to the Immigration Office within 24 hours of them checking-in. The Hotel and Guest House Owners were told to conform to the regulations or face stiff penalties including fines of up to 8,000 Baht should they not submit copies of the registration forms within the allotted time. The Deputy Superintendant told us that this is essential to ensure that foreigners can be quickly located should the Immigration Office or other Police Divisions wish to speak with them for whatever reason.
