Sattahip police arrest four people in series of drug stings


 
 
       
 
       
       

In what proved an eventful series of undertakings early on Monday morning, undercover police in Sattahip managed to apprehend four people involved in the taking and selling of the Class 1 drug yah bah.
The sequence of events kicked off with the arrest of a 17-year-old Thai female for possession of a single yah bah tablet. She gave up the name of her supplier and police arrested him, a 25-year-old Thai male, after the teenager rang him and requested a delivery of 50 yah bah tablets. The man was also found with 8,000 baht in cash on his person.
Back at the police station the undercover officers told the man to phone his supplier and request an amount of 40 yah bah tablets. While officers listened into the conversation the arrested man arranged with his 21-year-old supplier to meet at the toilet block of a service station on the outskirts of Sattahip.
The 21-year-old arrived on a motorbike accompanied by an 18-year-old male. When police attempted to arrest the pair the 21-year-old threw the packet of yah bah tablets into nearby bushes. Both men were soon subdued and a search eventually uncovered the packet of drugs.
All people arrested in the sting will face court proceedings in coming days.
